TO BE A CHANGEMAKER
The misfits, the rebels, the trouble makers, the round pegs in the square holes

When I was about 7, one day I was sitting at home alone doing nothing but listening to silence. I discovered this feeling that silence has something to tell you which words cannot.

That the World and life itself are much more complex than what I had been aware of.  This experience has became my main driving force  in work.

AT THE AGE OF 24 I DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE many PEOPLE who HAVE GREAT IDEAS ABOUT HOW CAN WE MAKE LIFE BETTER ON EARTH BUT THE MAJORITY of us IGNORE THEM.

I worked as a journalist for 15 years and realised that we came to an age when the civilisation needs answers for challenges like climate change, sustainability, fair housing inclusive education and many other things that are crucial for our survival. And there are millions of artists, activists, scientists, teachers and others who have ideas about how to fix our problems. Yet we live in a way as if there were no solutions.

To be a changemaker means that you teach people something that they already know but ignore it. You have to believe in your cause so much that it comes across and influences many others. It is a fascinating journey.

I started to do nonprofit video production 12 years ago because I wanted to be part of the solution. Video is a perfect tool for that. When you understand something about the World it feels like being reborn. And it can truly be that. To make that happen you not only need information but experience. Feelings and experience convince us much more than just words.

The people who crazy enough to think they can change the World are the ones who do

I love to work with changemakers helping them to bring this experience to as many people as possible.

According to my personal experience, everyone who wants to make the world better actually takes a step closer to herself. It is like the moment of truth. The gate through which you enter a life that feels better. And this is what many people sense who devote their time to a good cause. Which to me is an effort to make the World better. And when I create nonprofit videos, or produce animated explainer videos about a cause, those are among the best moments of my life. Ever since I started work as a journalist, a video editor and producer, I felt privileged to be part of a good cause.

about the pictures and the video in this post

These pictures were taken in 2021 during our nonprofit video production in a summer camp for children who live in foster homes. The camp which was organised by Academy of Esperience, trainers created a special experience for children to make them feel home, safe and just as important as all the others.
